Editorial standards

How Independent Records Review selects, attributes and updates its reporting about public records.

Purpose and independence

Independent Records Review presents a dated selection of court and professional licensing records concerning Phil Godlewski. It is an independent publication, not his official website or a service operated by any court or government agency.

The subject's name identifies the person covered. It does not indicate his endorsement, control or participation. The publication does not claim professional accreditation or official authority.

What the records establish

A charge is an allegation. A guilty plea, sentence, civil finding and procedural order are different events. Summaries describe each event in the terms supported by the cited document.

A civil judgment does not create an additional criminal conviction. An order denying discretionary review is described as that procedural result, rather than as a new criminal verdict. A post-conviction filing does not establish how the court later decided it.

Historical pleas described in later court opinions are identified as historical accounts. A dated docket snapshot records what that copy shows. It does not establish present case status, and unresolved verification limits remain visible.

Authorship, hosting and attribution

Court-authored documents and agency reports are the basis for the record summaries. Each entry identifies the available source, relevant date, docket or reference, and reading location.

The author of a document and the website hosting its copy are identified separately. A court-authored PDF hosted by an independent publisher is not presented as a court-hosted file. A readable mirror is labelled as a copy.

Source dates, court-event dates, research review dates and publication changes are separate. The June 2026 research checkpoint covers documents dated through 30 June 2026. Later developments are identified by their own dates; the checkpoint is not a claim of publication or review in June.

Clips and public statements

Video clips, broadcasts and social posts are commentary or attributed public statements. They are presented separately from judicial findings. Their presence does not establish the truth of a claim made in them.

Known gaps in a clip's original recording, date, wider context or authentication are disclosed. A publisher's title is not treated as an independently verified upload date. Automatic captions may contain errors.

A Telegram post records what the cited channel published. It does not independently authenticate an image or prove a criminal allegation. External sources operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

Privacy and relevance

The publication excludes private contact details, sensitive personal identifiers and identifying information about minors. Private people are not named merely because their names appear in a public filing.

Summaries use the detail needed to explain a documented event and its limits. Source documents may contain information that is not reproduced here. Reporting a public record is not an invitation to contact, threaten or harass anyone.

Corrections and updates

Correction requests should identify the page, the disputed wording and the supporting record or explanation. Requests are assessed against the available source material. A complaint alone does not establish that a statement is false.

Material corrections and substantive updates are described in the change log. Presentation changes are distinguished from changes to the factual account. A design update does not imply a fresh review of criminal-docket status.
